The next time you tell a client how Facebook selects and ranks the content that shows up in the News Feed, you’ll need to do it without using the word EdgeRank. EdgeRank, Facebook’s original News Feed ranking system, is dead.

Facebook hasn’t used the term EdgeRank internally for more than two years. So why is that social media consulting you’re working with, or considering working with, still using it?

 

What was once simple (three factors) is now very complex (100K factors) and so gaming that system to achieve better results on Facebook seems relatively impossible.
